Tales from the Hearth: When Wolf Walked Us Home
When Wolf Walked Us Home is the first installment in the Tales from the Hearth children's series, which will be a companion series to The Northern Hearts series. Each book follows Lina and Kai as they learn to deal with big emotions with the help of some animal guides.
When Wolf Walked Us Home follows Lina and Kai, who have just moved to North Pole, Alaska, after their father was offered a new job. They miss their friends, their old house, and all the familiar things they left behind. In this new place, they're afraid of making new friends and are struggling to fit in. But when a snowstorm leads Lina and Kai to seek shelter at the local bookshop, they meet Holly, the owner, who gives them comfort and cocoa. However, as the hearth lights, they find themselves on a journey with a silent wolf who leads them through the storm of snow and emotions.
In this story, children are gently guided through emotional terrain marked by change, memory, and deep feeling. The story affirms that belonging can be rebuilt through quiet courage and intuitive connection; that silence and gesture speak just as powerfully as words; and that emotions—grief, joy, loneliness—hold wisdom, not weakness. Through the sanctuary of storytelling and the steady presence of the Wolf, young readers learn to trust their inner guardians and embrace healing as both a personal and communal journey.
